Tom Shaw was kind enough to put the Grady Toland concert held at Cedarville University (nee College) back in the 1980s onto YouTube.
Grady was not a music professional. He was a missionary who was invited to do a bit of a music show at Cedarville. That may have been the first and last time he did that. Most of the songs are light and humorous (‘Silly Songs with Grady’) but one was a bit more serious… the “MK Song ”
It was a hopeful song of what it might be like to be a missionary kid (MK). Grady was a missionary for many years, but not an MK. As such, as I said, it was a hopeful view of what it is like. Having three children in my family who were MKs, I know reality can be FAR rougher. Still, some of the life experiences can indeed be exciting and even the more difficult aspects can seem less difficult in time.
