The Art of Pastoral Care

It took something like 3 years, but finally finished the book, “The Art of Pastoral Care.” My wife and I developed the materials for our pastoral care center in Baguio City, Philippines. Primarily, this is for “Intro to Pastoral Care” and “Clinical Pastoral

Orientation.” The follow-on book, The Dynamics of Pastoral

Care, when done, will add to this for those moving on into

Units 1-4 of Clinical Pastoral Education.

The goal in this (short) book was to find some balance points:

  • Balance between Theology and Psychology
  • Balance between Historical and Clinical Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care Presentation

I usually put Missions topics on this Blog page. However, since, one of my two biggest roles in missions is heading a pastoral care center, I don’t feel bad putting this presentation here. And besides, even if the development of missions and pastoral care historically is different, there are a lot of parallels. Decide for yourself.
